SEASON ART GALLERY OPENINGS Summer season Gala Gallery Openings at most of the areas numerous art galleries. The galleries will be open to the public all day with special emphasis placed on their individual public receptions starting at 4 PM and running into the evening.

WOODSTOCK PAINT-OUT local artists are going to record and interpret, in a variety of media, the unique visual character of Woodstock.   The Main Gallery has an exhibition titled "Botanica" juried by Anita & Spider Barbour.  In the Downstairs Gallery: "Continuity of Vision", work by photographer Bernard Gerson.  The Towbin Museum Wing features "from Sweden to Woodstock: The Art and Career of Carl Eric Lindin" curated by Tom Wolf, and a talk by him on Sunday, May 29th.

EXHIBITION of paintings, prints, sculpture and drawings from the collection of the Woodstock School of Art, culminating in a Silent Auction on June 4. Bids will be received until 3 PM on that date at a reception in the Gallery from 2 to 4 PM.

FREE TOURS of the School’s Historic Landmark buildings will be given. Sponsored by the National Youth Administration, the stone and timber buildings were handcrafted in 1939 provide a campus for the training of young men and women in various crafts.

SCULPTURE PARK will be open to the public and tours available. The wooded 30 acre site is studded with sculptures created from native bluestone quarry tailings and other natural materials.

KINGSTON TROLLEY BEGINS CONTINUOUS TOUR Kingston's famous red trolley makes the rounds of vibrant arts sites away from Woodstock center. Originating at the Woodstock Playhouse the trolley will travel to Byrdcliffe Arts Colony, will then travel to the Woodstock School of Art and Maverick Concert Hall.  At all sites, the trolley will allow guests to depart and explore for as long as they choose, as it will continually loop the scheduled route.

MUSIC AT MAVERICK The Maverick Concert Hall will be open for visits from 10:00 AM and will be alive with a variety of music throughout the afternoon.  Live performances begin at 2 PM and refreshments are available all day.  Beautiful, historic Hall built by hand  in 1916.

PLAY SLAM  Playwrights, actors, directors and theatre lovers will assemble at the Byrdcliffe Theatre, site of the annual WOODSTOCK FRINGE Festival of Theatre & Song in August.  Scripts will be distributed to the assembled, rehearsed briefly and performed.  Come join a celebration of plays, theatre arts and the beautiful spirit of the Byrdcliffe Theatre.  All are welcome, pros and non. . . .
